For centuries, the wolves lived in peace. There were eight packs, each with their own power over an element. To keep the peace, the Alpha pairs of each pack gathered, and appointed one strong and mighty wolf to be the High Alpha, reigning over all the other packs. This wolf took the strongest from each pack and formed his own pack, called the High Alpha Pack. The High Alpha was granted two new powers in addition to his original power, through a very hard and painful method. When he died, a new High Alpha was chosen, and also granted two new powers. This system continued, and it worked well for a while. That is, until about fifty years ago…
A wolf was born in the High Alpha Pack with strange powers. He was named Shadow, after the element he controlled. His ambition was great, and he wanted nothing more than to rule as the High Alpha. He was well on his way to reach his goal, and once he was High Alpha, he was planning to bring the packs together so that he could take control over all of Sorika, ruling as a harsh dictator.
But he was found out. The current High Alpha and Shadow locked in a furious battle, in which the High Alpha won. He banished Shadow from the pack, but before he left, he swore he would one day rule the land. He found a mate and his offspring shared his powers. Thus the Shadow Pack was born, and they grew in number as more wolves with Shadow Powers were found from distant lands. Shadow ruled them until he died, and when that happened, another wolf took over. The Shadow Pack began attacking the other packs, taking them down one by one...

Weather Rukria Mountain: Weather is very warm, but with lots of wind. Storms are frequent. Ice Mountain: Lots of snow has melted, but there's still a significant amount. Still rather cold, but very sunny. Mount Kerekin: Scorching hot out on the volcano, but perfect weather down in the forest. Volcano is mildly active. Serenian Cliffs and Forest: Very windy with equal amounts of sunny and overcast days. Myrain Plains: Dry and mostly sunny. Lots of wind and sometimes clouds, but minimal rain. Forbidden Pines: Often dark and cloudy, but very warm and humid. Autumn Cliffs: Occasional rain, but mostly sun and wind. Pleasant weather. Comanche Forest: Lots of sun and giant puffy clouds.

I'm so sorry, guys! Life's been coming at me fast lately, with it being my senior year in highschool and with my family moving in the next month or so. I'm sure the same applies to our other admin, Kyra and Serien. I think we may put Sorika in Maintenance Mode for a while, and we'll open it up again when we know we'll be able to KEEP it up! We're not dead! xD We never left, it's just that there hasn't been much RPing lately. We're trying to get back into it, so feel free to join if you'd like. :3 When summer comes, we plan to have things get a lot more exciting. ^^ For now it's pretty much sub-plots, though. :3 We'd love it if you guys could try and be more active, or help find active members! =3 We understand school keeps a lot of people from RPing or wanting to RP. Don't worry, we admins have the same problem as well. *g*

All right, guys. I'm REALLY sorry the site hasn't been going very fast. I comepletely FAILED my goal, which was to have it up by Monday. LAST Monday. As in a week ago. Grawr. Here you need to post bios for each of your characters before you can RP them. You must follow the bio format provided, and your characters have to be accepted before you RP them. Please read the bio rules before you post them, as there is important information in them.
If you would like to test to RP one of the Alphas of one of the packs, post a thread here. Follow the form posted on this board and read the rules before trying out. The rules on trying for a high position are very important, so make sure you go over them carefully!
The Thunder Pack's territory is a very rocky and mountainous area. The Pack usually resides on a plateau with a small pine forest for hunting. There are many cliff sides surrounding the plateau that overlook the surrounding area. In the area below the Thunder Pack’s home, there is not much cover for a wolf to try and sneak into the territory, which makes it hard to perform a surprise attack. The weather is often stormy, and thunder and lightning is a regular occurrence.
Ice Mountain is the biggest mountain in all of Sorika. Only the Ice Wolves of the Ice Pack can withstand its cold air, in fact they love it. The Ice Pack lives near the top, in a small valley on a plateau where the mountain winds aren't so harsh. There is a large forest of pines in the center where different creatures live. All year around, the ground is covered in snow. The Ice Wolves take shelter in dens in the mountainside.
Near the northern mountains of Sorika is the only volcano in the land. Mount Kerekin is home to the Fire Pack, who live within the hot caves around the mountain. The lands immediate surrounding the base of the mountain are covered in sharp rocks left over from past lava flows, but the wolves that live here are used to it. The sharp rocks are in about a half mile radius, where it changes to dirt and forest, where the Fire Wolves hunt for their food.
The Water Wolves keep themselves on a secluded penninsula, which reaches into the western sea by Sorika. On this stretch of land is huge red cliffsides, going straight to the water. Waves crash against the rock, and it is extremely dangerous for a wolf to hang around the edge. Towards the tip of the penninsula, the cliffs get smaller and less rocky, and soon slopes down into a large beach. Along the sloped cliff are a bunch of caves where the Water Wolves take refuge. At the top of the cliffs is a huge forest of pines, reaching as far back as the mainland.
The Earth Pack lives in a very open area. The plains are full of dry, yellow grass. There are a few ponds that provide water, and many grazing animals, such as deer, come here for food. The Earth Wolves have plently of rock to use their powers on, as there are quite a few boulders and bare areas where the grass has been burned away by some fire from long ago. In the southern area of their territory, there is a small forest, where the wolves will take refuge during bad weather. Usually, though, they sleep out in the open or in small dens.
In a large forest near the center of Sorika lives the Shadow Pack. The trees of this forest are very dark and give a very foreboding feeling. Once between the trees, the feeling just gets worse. Even in the middle of the day, the area is usually dark and shadows seem to jump out at you everywhere. Instead of birds, bats live in the trees, glaring at everyone who passes. Near the southern end of this forest is a large mountain, and no wolf has ever scaled its heights. No one would want to, with the harsh cold and dangerous wind. At the base of this mountain are a group of caves, where the Shadow Wolves take shelter. The largest cave is reserved for the Alpha. Trespassers in this territory are not tolerated, so invaders better beware.
A popular pace for loners, Autumn Cliffs has a lot of prey and beautiful scenery. There is a large valley surrounded by huge cliffs in a horseshoe fashion. In the center of the cliffs is a large, waterfall, the biggest in all of Sorika. The top where it begins its fall is about ten feet across, and the water falls about fifty feet down the cliffs. It tumbles down from a river and into a huge lake, and the lake drains off into several streams. Surrounding the lake is a jungle-like forest, with a lot of bushes and undergrowth. There is plenty of prey here, as well as some caves along the cliffside for shelter. It always seems like the season Fall, here, though it does get the occasional snowfall.
The gorgeous Comanche Forest lies here. Out of all of the forests, this one has the most plentiful prey, even in winter, when the harsh cold weather blows through. It consists of many oaks and other large types of trees. The light that streams through the foliage of the trees in the morning is an amazing and beautiful sight, which casts rays of bountiful sunlight upon the many lucky plants in the undergrowth of the forest. A small river cuts it’s way through the center of the Comanche Forest. A Cliffside that has been titled “Lookout Ledge” also lies in the Comanche forest, and it overlooks the forest. This forest was once home to the Pack of Speed, but the Shadow Wolves drove them out. Now the only thing that reminds wolves of the pack that used to live here is a small cluster of abandoned dens near the east side.
